research

Hi, I hope it's ok to post this here.
I'm doing a project on Riot Grrrl for my degree (due in next week) and I was hoping some people here would be able to answer a few questions for me (9); they're pretty general and it's just so I can get some basic info to use in my assignment, all responses will remain anonymous of course.

I'd really appreciate anyone's help!

1.Age?

2.Gender?

3.Location?

4.Favourite band(s)?

5.Do female-fronted bands/musicians have a special appeal for you? If so, why do you think that is?

6.Are there any female musicians which you particularly admire/identify with?

6.Have you attended Ladyfest or a similar event?

7.Are you/have you ever been in a band yourself (if so, which instrument do you play)?

8.Do you/have you ever participated in the creation of a zine or a similar project?

9.Do your friends share your interest in riot grrl?

(x-posted to a few other places, sorry!!)

5. Yes, I find that increasingly I listen almost entirely to female fronted/all female bands or female solo artists. I'm not sure why, I just find them more interesting and I identify with a lot of stuff they're singing about. I don't find a lot of the new all male bands around at the moment to be that good or to be the equal of stuff I've liked in the past.

6. Courtney Love, Inger Lorre, Patti Smith, Lydia Lunch, Diamanda Galas, Grace Jones, Cristina, Jessicka and more.

6. I attended Ladyfest Newcastle which I also helped to organise.

8. I've been doing zines for over 10 years. I've done many zines on a variety of topics and also written stuff for other people's zines in the past.
